Elangovan Govindarajan is a widely acclaimed "Carnatic Vocalist, Nattuvanar and Music Composer". Elangovan belongs to an illustrious family of musicians and nattuvanars. He was trained in Carnatic music and nattuvangam by his father, Guru K. J. Govindarajan. He is a versatile artiste who can give concerts and also provide vocal and nattuvangam accompaniment during Bharatanatyam recitals. He is gifted with the rare ability to sing and provide nattuvangam accompaniment simultaneously during dance recitals, a skill he inherited from his late father. Firmly rooted in tradition, Elangovan has composed numerous Varnams, Jatiswarams, Kritis, Bhajans and Tillanas for which he won critical acclaim. An empanelled artiste with the I.C.C.R., Elangovan has travelled extensively in 52 countries, enthralling audiences with his soulful renditions of classical and devotional songs.

Elangovan Govindarajan has given several concerts for All India Radio and Doordarshan. To his distinction, he is an M. A. silver medalist in Indian Classical Vocal music from Rabindra Bharati University.

He is the founder-director of Parampara Centre for Indian Classical Music and Dance where he teaches Carnatic music and nattuvangam to many aspirants. Along with his wife Marie, who teaches Bharatanatyam at Parampara Centre, he presented the Bharatanatyam Arangetram of 40 students in the last two decades. His vast knowledge and experience makes him a very respectable artiste in the field of music, dance and education.

Elangovan Govindarajan is also jury member of the reputed Sahitya Kala Parishad, advisory member and judge for NCERT and judge for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of India. He is also in the panels of many cultural associations abroad such as Kala Bharati (Montreal) Rati School of Dance (Ottawa) and Naadham School of Music and Dance (Toronto).
